Where do I place "nicht" in a sentence?

Before an adjective or adverb: Das ist nicht gut.

Before a prepositional phrase: Er kommt nicht aus Berlin.

Before the Partizip II/infinitive at the end: Ich habe das Buch nicht gelesen.

At the very end of the sentence: If negating the entire statement, or the direct object if it's a definite noun/pronoun. Ich sehe ihn nicht.
