When do I use "als" and "wie" with comparisons?

als: Used for inequality ("than"). Er ist größer als ich. (He is taller than I.)

wie: Used for equality ("as...as"). Sie ist so groß wie ich. (She is as tall as I.)

Example

Dieses Buch ist interessanter als das andere. (This book is more interesting than the other.)

Das Wetter ist heute so schön wie gestern. (The weather is as beautiful today as yesterday.)
